In June 2026, I’ll be stepping into one of the UK’s most infamous endurance events The Fan Dance Race, run by The Special Forces Experience.

This isn’t your average 14-mile race. It’s a gruelling test born from the Special Forces Selection itself across the unforgiving terrain of the Brecon Beacons. The route takes you over Pen y Fan not once, but twice, via the notorious Roman Road and the brutal climb of Jacob’s Ladder. Every mile is designed to break you physically, mentally, and emotionally.

They say the Beacons don’t care who you are. They’ll strip you down to your limits, and that’s exactly why I’m doing it.

Once again, I’ll be raising money for Cancer Research UK, in honour of the many people close to me whose lives have been touched, and taken by cancer. This cause means everything to me.

Now, let’s be clear I’m not built like an elite athlete. I’m heavy, I’m not a natural runner, I have a torn quad and can be eliminated during the race if I am deemed not fast enough and this challenge will drag me far outside my comfort zone. But that’s the point, to suffer, to push harder, to remind myself that we can all endure more than we think, especially when it’s for something bigger than ourselves.

Every donation, no matter how small, will keep me moving when the Beacons bite back.
